Emily Somers

Although I practiced yoga sporadically for years, my journey truly began in 2015 when a beautiful studio opened in my neighborhood. There I discovered I could feel deep peace, self-love, and acceptance.

These are areas I struggled with for years after a breast cancer diagnosis at 29 and a life-long battle with my weight.  I decided I wanted to teach to help breast cancer patients/survivors and represent bigger-bodied Yogis.

In 2021, I completed my 500-hour teacher training and sound practitioner training in 2022. I love to combine sound with my yoga classes, which include gentle flow, restorative, chair, Yin, and Yoga Nidra.

Life is not perfect, and I’m not perfect. But I do believe yoga can change your life for the better, and bring peace, joy, and optimism to everybody. You just have to be willing to try.
